What are some good backdrops for a wedding?
Good backdrops for a wedding include black velvet with a blush floral garland, ivory draping with uplighting, and a sage green fabric arch. All three are in the Two14 Events photos on this page.
For a ceremony, the mandap is the backdrop. Ours are carved gold or white jali, with florals and fabric behind the seats. For a darker, bolder stage, look at the black draping with red roses and gold candelabras.
Our Signature Style
Timeless & sophisticated
Our signature style remains timeless and sophisticated while open and inviting to one-of-a-kind elements to serve as enhancements. The beauty of draping is that it’s an impactful softness. The varying style of balancing florals with valances, offers nuanced changes of beauty. Our florals are carefully arranged to complement the overall aesthetic and add fullness to the design. Let us show you the highlights of our inspirations and work and how we can bring your vision to life.

How to read the portfolio
-
Mandaps
The Mandaps filter shows 19 photos of our four designs. Look at the pillars, the seats and the aisle in each one.
Every mandap is a full package, priced from $3,500 to $5,000 CAD. See what each mandap package includes.

Backdrops and draping
These 12 photos show fabric at work: wall draping, ceiling draping, stage backdrops and one fabric arch.
Draping has no fixed price. We quote it from your wall length, your colour and your date. Read how wedding draping is quoted.
-
Receptions and tables
Seven photos of full rooms and tabletops: round tables, long banquet tables, tall centrepieces and a cake display.
Like the flowers? Our shop sells silk roses, peonies, hydrangeas and dahlias by the bunch.

Five wedding backdrop ideas
The wedding backdrop ideas in our photos all start with one fabric colour, then add florals and light. Here are five you can point to in a consultation:
- Black velvet behind a garland of blush flowers. Dark fabric makes pale flowers stand out in pictures.
- A fabric arch in sage green, dressed with florals and candles. It frames two people without covering a whole wall.
- Black and gold draping with floral arrangements, for a formal evening.
- Dark teal draping behind a blush floral stage, with a petal aisle leading up to it.
- Red roses and gold candelabras set against black draping.
A backdrop only, or the whole room
A backdrop sits behind the stage or the head table. Wall-to-wall draping runs around the entire room. If you already like the walls of your hall, a backdrop alone is enough, and you should not pay us to cover them. If the walls clash with your colours, drape the room from wall to wall.
Four mandaps
Indian wedding stage decoration
For Indian wedding stage decoration, Two14 Events builds four mandaps: Palazzo, Rangeela, Shreya and Jodha Akbar. Packages run from $3,500 to $5,000 CAD. Smaller scaled options need a budget of at least $2,500. Below that, we are honestly not the right fit for a mandap.
-
Palazzo Mandap
A white crystal mandap under a chandelier. Blush florals sit on the canopy, and a pink runner leads up the aisle.
-
Rangeela Mandap
Gold arches and clusters of red roses against a royal red backdrop. Gold elephants stand beside the aisle.
-
Shreya Mandap
A carved gold stage. The pillars are carved, and so are the seats. A floral garland finishes it.
-
Jodha Akbar Mandap
Carved white jali with teal fabric behind it. Book this one open or closed.
Each package comes with furniture, accessories, a designed backdrop and uplighting. Compare the four mandap packages before you choose.
Five steps
How a look goes from photo to your venue
A look from this portfolio reaches your venue in five steps: consultation, design direction, proposal and confirmation, final details, and installation.
- Consultation. Show us the photos you saved. We ask about your event, your venue, your priorities and your budget.
- Design direction. Together we settle the overall look, the colour palette and the main decor pieces.
- Proposal and confirmation. You receive a decor proposal with a quote. Once you approve it, your date is secured.
- Final details. Closer to the event we confirm measurements, layouts and selections.
- Design comes to life. Our team installs and styles the room.
One honest limit. A photo shows one room on one day. Your hall has its own ceiling height, wall length and light, so we will not promise an exact copy. We confirm measurements in step four, so the design fits your room. Book a virtual or phone consultation to start.
Showroom in Mississauga
Where we work in Toronto and the GTA
Two14 Events works from a showroom at 980 Pacific Gate, Unit 7, in Mississauga, and serves Toronto, the GTA and the rest of Ontario. Hours are 9 AM to 5 PM. At the showroom you can see fabrics and silk florals in person.
Inside a 50 km circle around Union Station in Toronto, mandap packages already cover delivery, setup and take-down. Is your venue farther out? We can still quote it, but delivery is priced on its own. Meet Sarika, our Creative Director, or ask about your venue.
Questions
Backdrop and decor questions
What are some unique backdrop ideas for a wedding?
Unique backdrop ideas in our photos include red, green and gold ceiling draping, and black draping beside a checkerboard dance floor with white florals. The Jodha Akbar Mandap, white jali with teal drapes, is a third.
What makes a good wedding backdrop?
A good wedding backdrop fits the width of your stage and looks right in photos. Choose the fabric first, because it covers the most space. We confirm the measurements with you in the final details step, before the day.
How to make a backdrop for a wedding?
To make a wedding backdrop yourself, you need a frame, fabric wide enough to cover it, and a way to fix flowers on top. That works for a small backdrop at home.
For a full stage, ask your venue what it allows first. Then weigh the hours of setup and take-down against a quote from our team.
What wedding decor is trending now?
The wedding decor in our photos right now is wall-to-wall draping with uplighting, carved mandaps, fabric arches and dark backdrops with blush florals. That is the portfolio of one decorator, not a survey of every wedding.
