Flow and Elevate
Wedding Draping
Wall-to-Wall Draping
Draping that elongates the walls around the perimeter of a room, creating the outline or border of your event.
How much does draping cost for a wedding?
Two14 Events quotes wedding draping per job, from the linear feet of wall, the colour and your installation date. We publish no flat price, because a small hall and a full ballroom are very different jobs.
To get your number, send those details in the draping quote form. Not sure of the wall length? Walk along each wall you want covered, count the feet and add them up. A rough figure is enough to start.
Wall-to-Wall Draping
Unlike a stage backdrop
Wall-to-wall draping is unlike a stage backdrop. This style of draping elongates walls around the perimeter of a room or space, creating the outline or border. We can create airwalls to divide, lead into, curve your guests into the event experience. Think of the flowing fabric as the tux of a formal affair, it sets the tone and uplifts the class of the event to a next-level. When paired with uplights, wall draping will elevate the space, creating a luxurious atmosphere that will leave a lasting impression on guests.

How it hangs
What is pipe and drape?
Pipe and drape is a freestanding frame of upright poles and crossbars that holds fabric panels. Nothing is fixed to the venue’s walls, so it suits halls that do not allow nails or tape.
The uprights stand on weighted bases. The crossbars slide between them, and the fabric hangs from the crossbars in soft folds. Our wall draping follows the same idea, all the way around the room.
How uplights pair with wall draping
Uplights are small lights that sit on the floor and shine up the fabric. White draping takes on the colour of the light, so one room can glow warm gold or soft blush. Black draping does the opposite. It soaks up light and makes a large hall feel closer.
Every one of our mandap rental packages includes three uplights for the same reason.
Room or backdrop
Whole room or a backdrop only
Drape the whole room when the walls are the problem. Choose a backdrop when your guests will face one way all night.
-
The whole room
Full-room draping hides what you do not want in photos, such as dated panelling or service doors. It gives the space one clean border.
It also lets us build airwalls that split a big hall or lead guests in.
-
A backdrop only
A backdrop covers one wall only, usually the one your guests face. Draping is quoted by the linear foot, so one wall costs less than four.
It is the right call when the hall already looks good.

When draping is too much
Planning one stage wall and nothing else? Then the full room is more than you need. Say so, and we will quote the backdrop instead.
We also cannot give a price on the spot. Without a date and a wall length, any number would be a guess.

Questions
Venue draping questions
How much to drape a venue?
The cost to drape a venue depends mostly on its size, measured along the walls in feet. A room with 200 feet of wall needs twice the fabric of one with 100 feet.
Two14 Events posts no venue rate. We price each room from its wall length, colour and date.
What fabric is used for wedding draping?
Two14 Events offers wedding draping in black, white or another colour that you ask for. We do not name one fabric here, because the right cloth depends on the room and the light.
You can see and touch fabrics in person at our Mississauga showroom.
Do it yourself pipe and drape?
Yes, you can do pipe and drape yourself for one flat backdrop, and rental kits exist for that. A whole room is a different job.
Full rooms need many uprights, ladders, steaming and a crew, all inside the short setup window a venue allows. Hire it out when the fabric runs wall to wall or goes up high.
How to do draping for a wedding arch?
To drape a wedding arch, fix the fabric at the top centre first. Let it fall down both sides, then tie each side back partway so the folds hold their shape.
Use one long panel per side so no seam shows in photos. Two14 Events builds fabric arches and canopies as well. Ask us about a fabric arch.

What changes a wall draping quote
The length of wall changes a draping quote the most. The following table lists the three things we ask for, and why.
| Detail | Why we ask |
|---|---|
| Wall length | More wall means more fabric and a longer install. |
| Colour | Your colour choice tells us which fabric to plan for. |
| Installation date | We check that our team is free that day. |
A common draping problem is a wrong measurement. A rough number is fine for the quote. Before the install we check every measurement and the layout again, so the fabric fits the room on the day.
