Where can I get nice silk flowers?

You can get silk flowers at the Two14 Events showroom, 980 Pacific Gate, Unit 7, Mississauga, or order them online on this page.

Right now we stock dahlias, hydrangeas, peonies and roses. They come in bunches of 5 to 10 heads, in many colours. Showroom hours are 9 AM to 5 PM. If you live nearby, come and hold a bunch first. Photos never tell you as much as your own hands do.

Before you order

How our silk florals are sold

Silk florals at Two14 Events are sold by the bunch, not by the single stem. Each product card shows the head count, the colour choices and the price.

  • Head count

A bunch holds 5 to 10 flower heads. The number sits under the product name, written like this: 10-head bunch.

  • Colour choice

Many bunches come in more than one colour. Pick your colour from the list on the card, then add the bunch to your cart.

  • Taxes and delivery

Card prices are for the flowers alone. Tax and the delivery cost are added at checkout, before you pay.

  • Price on request

Some items say Price on request. Use the link on that card to ask us, or call (416) 408-6903.

Materials

Are silk flowers real silk?

No. Most silk flowers sold today are not made of real silk. They are made from polyester or other fabric blends.

The name is old. Fabric flowers were once made from silk, and people kept the word after the cloth changed.

If the exact fabric matters to you, ask before you order. Better still, feel the petals in our showroom.

Care

How to clean silk flowers

To clean silk flowers, brush the dust off with a soft, dry brush, or use a hair dryer on its cool setting.

  1. Hold the stem and start at the top of the bloom.
  2. Brush each petal lightly with a soft paintbrush or a clean makeup brush.
  3. For deep folds, set the dryer to cool and low, and hold it a little way back.
  4. Wipe leaves and stems with a barely damp cloth. Test a hidden spot first, because some dyes run when wet.

A full arrangement can be cleaned where it stands. There is no need to pull the stems apart. Keep silk flowers out of direct sun, which fades fabric over time.

Compare

Silk flowers vs real flowers

Silk flowers last for years and can be used again and again. Real flowers bring scent and a living look, but they wilt within days. The following table puts the two side by side.

Silk and real flowers, side by side
What you compareSilk flowersReal flowers
LifespanYears, with light dustingDays, then they wilt
ReuseUse the same bunch at the next event, or keep it at homeOne event only
WiltingNone, even in a warm room or on a long dayCan droop with heat or without water
Colour choiceMany colours, the same all yearDepends on the season
ScentNoneNatural scent
  • Who should choose fresh flowers

If you want real scent and living petals, hire a fresh florist, not us. Silk has no scent, and up close a fabric petal does not feel like a real one. Better you hear that from us before you order.

  • Who silk flowers suit

Silk suits you if you want to set up days ahead or use the flowers again. Nothing wilts, so warm rooms and long days are no trouble.

Do it yourself

How to arrange silk flowers

To arrange silk flowers, place the biggest blooms first, add smaller flowers around them, then fill the gaps with leaves.

  1. Put floral foam or pebbles in the vase so the stems stay where you set them.
  2. Cut stems to length with wire cutters. Most silk stems have wire inside, and scissors will struggle.
  3. Set the largest blooms first, such as hydrangeas or peonies, at different heights.
  4. Add roses or dahlias in the spaces between. Turn the vase as you work so every side looks full.
  5. Bend the wired stems and open the petals with your fingers. Bunches flatten in a box, and a little shaping brings them back.

Two14 Events also designs wedding mandaps and wall-to-wall draping, so the flowers can be planned with the rest of the room. Book a consultation to start.

FAQ

Questions about silk flowers

Where can I buy silk flowers near me?

For shoppers in Mississauga, Toronto or elsewhere in the GTA, silk flowers are sold in person by Two14 Events. The showroom address is 980 Pacific Gate, Unit 7, Mississauga. If you cannot visit, order from this page. Delivery is priced at checkout.

Are fake flowers cheaper than real for wedding?

Fake flowers can work out cheaper for a wedding when you reuse them, because you pay once and keep the bunch. Our shop sells silk only, so we will not guess at a fresh florist’s price. Silk also does not wilt, and you can set it up days early.

What does the term “silk flowers” mean?

The term “silk flowers” means artificial flowers with fabric petals. It does not promise real silk. Today the fabric is most often polyester.

Who has the most realistic fake flowers?

The most realistic fake flowers are the ones that pass a close look, whoever sells them. Look for soft colour shading in the petals and wired stems that bend into a natural curve. You can check both in our Mississauga showroom.
